Jonathan Little: Another Young Poker Pro
There is an increasing number of young poker professionals emerging in the industry today. And these young poker professionals have been amazingly proving that their skills are not ordinary ones. Instead, they have been proving to the industry that they can actually compete against the world's top poker players. And one of these young poker professionals is Jonathan Little.
Born in Pensacola, Florida on December 22, 1984, Jonathan Little learned to play poker when he was still in college trying to complete a degree in psychology at the University of West Florida. His passion for poker began as a hobby as he and his friends would always squeeze in some time to play the game. Eventually, his passion for the game became more serious as he started reading books about the subject. One of his favorite poker books is "The Theory of Poker," by David Sklansky. He improved his playing style by participating in online poker games and when he accumulated a total of US$35,000 in a span of six months, he made a major decision of dropping out of school in order to play professional poker.
Jonathan Little was responsible for the establishment of the Ship It Holla Ballas crew. This crew is composed of poker professionals who travel in different parts of the world in order to join tournaments that are considered as high stakes poker events. Aside from such involvement in the poker industry, he is also involved with an online poker training Web site that is popularly known as SNGIcons.com.
Between 2006 and 2007, Jonathan Little has participated in more than a dozen poker events. Most of his achievements are money finishes but his major one was earning a World Poker Tour title on May 23, 2007. This transpired when he became one of the poker players to join the No Limit Hold'em Championship game conducted at the Mirage Pokr Showdown. He earned US$1,066,295 from such event.
The first money finish experienced by Jonathan Little happened on January 7, 2006. It was at the Grand Casino Tunica Poker Tournament, which is a circuit event of the World Series of Poker. His second money finish occurred on two days later when he joined the Goldstrike World Poker Open, a tournament organized by the World Poker Tour. The third time he cashed in the money was on March 17, 2006 when he joined the PartyPoker Million V tournament. He cashed in the money in other events held in 2006 such as the Conquest of Paradise Island tournament and the Bellagio Cup II tournament.
Same thing occurred in 2007, Jonathan Little continued to be active in numerous tournaments, allowing him to make money finishes in most of his games. Aside from joining Mirage Poker Showdown events a number of times, he also joined the European Poker Tour Grand Final, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, the Mandalay Bay Poker Championships, the Gulf Coast Poker Championship, the Aruba Classic 2007, and the North American Poker Championships.
In just a span of one year, it can be said that Jonathan Little has already had adequate experience as a young poker professional. He definitely has a long way to go.
