A First Look at Poker
Poker today rules the casinos all around the world, but how it works still is a mystery to some people. Here is a first look on how to play poker.
There are two places in which you can see where poker is played. One is in what you call a "casual play", which is just an informal and untailored way of playing poker, be it in a house or a dormitory or even at a party. Usually the right to deal a hand revolves around the players and while your rotate the deal across the players it is usually marked by an indication that is called a "buck" or to some cases they call it a "dealer button". The second place in which you can play poker to is in a casino and in here poker is played in more formal and strict way. In casinos, the right to deal can only be done by the house dealer which is an employ of the casino, the house dealer then controls the cards for each hand and the "dealer button" is rotated from player to player in a clockwise direction to show the nominal dealer in order to control how much is bet on.
The first bet that you need to know is the forced bets or the "blind" which are required from one or more of the players. These blinds are put into the pot before the deal begins. There are two kinds of blind which needs to be placed into the pot: the small blind which is the one beside the dealer bets the half of what the normal bet would be and the big blind would bet not half but the whole of the normal bet. After the blind the dealer would then shuffle then cut the cards.
After that, the initial deal will take place in which the dealer will deal the cards to the player one at a time. As soon as the initial deal is over, another betting will occur which will be the first bet. If a player bets it is mandatory that the other players answer this by folding, calling or raising. When there is a player who bets and no one wishes to respond to it then instantly the hand will end making the bettor the winner of that particular hand and the next hand will begin again from the start from the blind to the betting.
There are a lot of types of poker and a lot of things to learn before you earn that big pot. Studying the art of betting in poker and experiencing it first hand will be one of the best tools for you in order to gain the skill of a good poker player.
